Saskia Vredeveld made a very personal film about her situation as a single mother of Mickey (aged 4). She filmed her household situation and all the practical problems that confronted her as a single mother. Her aim was to express her indignation about a country where everything is arranged, from cradle to grave, but where it’s made almost impossible for her to continue working.
Confronted by increasing problems, she developed guilt feelings towards her child fed by hopelessness and helplessness. She increasingly started to wonder what she had to offer her child.
The film does have a happy ending.
